01What is America Wallet?

America Wallet is a self-custodial mobile wallet for USD Coin (USDC), Tether (USDT), and Bitcoin (BTC). Self-custodial means you control your funds. Your keys are generated on your device and never leave it. Meridian Digital Labs LLC — the publisher — never has access to your funds, your keys, or your Secret Recovery Phrase.

02What cryptocurrencies does America Wallet support?

Three assets: USDC, USDT, and BTC. We deliberately keep the list short to reduce confusion and risk. We do not support memecoins, altcoins, or speculative tokens.

03How do I back up my wallet?

When you create a wallet, America Wallet shows you a 12-word Secret Recovery Phrase. Write it down on paper and store it somewhere safe and offline. You'll need this phrase to restore your wallet on another device if you lose your phone.

Never type your Secret Recovery Phrase into a website, share it with anyone, or store it in a cloud service, email, photo, or screenshot. Anyone with your Secret Recovery Phrase can take all of your funds.

04I lost my Secret Recovery Phrase — can you help me recover my wallet?

No. We cannot help. America Wallet is self-custodial, which means your keys and your Secret Recovery Phrase are stored only on your device. We never have a copy. If you lose your Secret Recovery Phrase and lose access to your device, your funds are permanently inaccessible.

This is why backing up your Secret Recovery Phrase immediately, and storing it safely, is so important.

05Someone asked me for my Secret Recovery Phrase. Should I share it?

No. We will never ask you for your Secret Recovery Phrase. No legitimate support agent, website, app, or person will ever ask you for it. Anyone asking for it is trying to steal your funds.

06How do I buy crypto in America Wallet?

Tap the Buy button. The app will route you to Transak, a third-party on-ramp provider, which accepts debit cards and bank transfers. Transak handles identity verification and payment processing directly — we don't see your ID documents or payment details.

07What fees does America Wallet charge?

America Wallet is free to download, and sending, receiving, and holding assets is free. We charge a fee on swap transactions, shown in the app before you confirm. Third-party services like Transak charge their own fees, also shown before you confirm.

Blockchain network fees (commonly called "gas fees") are paid to the blockchain network, not to us. They vary with network congestion.

08Why did my transaction fail?

Transactions can fail for several reasons: not enough funds to cover the transfer plus network fees, network congestion, a wrong address or wrong network, or an issue with a smart contract. If a transaction fails on-chain, your assets are still in your wallet (minus any network fees consumed by the attempt).

If you're stuck, email us at [email protected] with your wallet address and the transaction hash (if you have one).

09Is America Wallet a bank?

No. America Wallet is software. Meridian Digital Labs is not a bank, does not hold your funds, and does not offer bank accounts. Balances in America Wallet are not deposits, not FDIC-insured, and not SIPC-protected.

10What should I do if my phone is lost or stolen?

If your device is lost or stolen and your America Wallet was unlocked, whoever has the device could potentially access your wallet. As soon as you realize the device is gone:

  • Install America Wallet on a new device.
  • Restore your wallet using your Secret Recovery Phrase.
  • Transfer your funds to a new wallet (create a new wallet on the restored app, then send your assets to the new wallet's address).

Having your Secret Recovery Phrase stored safely is what makes this recovery possible.

11How do I contact support?

Email [email protected]. We'll respond as quickly as we can.

When you write, please include:

  • A description of what you were trying to do
  • Your device type and operating system version
  • Your America Wallet app version (found under Settings → About America Wallet)
  • The transaction hash, if your question involves a transaction

Never include your Secret Recovery Phrase in a support email. We will never ask for it.
